The Girls of RV 2008-2009

Melissa Casas

Melissa is a fourth-year Psych major and a fourth year RVer. Though the size and color of her lungs show her accumulating years living in Los Angeles, at heart she's still from the Yay (why do you think so many of our girls our from norcal this year?). She enjoys randoomness, people with awesome laughs (if you have an awesome laugh, be warned), watching entire tv show series on dvd in ridiculously minimal sittings, and burritos. If she were cool enough, she would love to be on Top Chef but unfortunately, she's not. RV is her outlet for creative expression, is a center for personal growth and learning, is her group of best friends, is the love of her life oh, singing shminging- it's just her excuse to procrastinate. :)

Jen Chu

Jen is a third-year Neuroscience major = she loves brains of all shapes and sizes. She's from San Jose, CA and of course a diehard Sharks fan. She's proud to sing beastly bass notes and still look hot while doing it. Jen secretly collects deformed candy. Except now its not secret. She was conned into signing up for Muy Thai at Wooden by Gina Carano, but now she loves switch kicking and shielding.

Maya Lohith

Maya is a fourth-year Enthomusicology major, Education minor. Her interests include jingle-jamming her way through life, dropping it like it's hot, eating only vegetables and chocolate, and speaking in a British accent upon consuming alcohol. She is an intern for URB Magazine and spends a lot of time sweating for no money. She is the only girl in RV history who has mastered the art of chipmunk beatboxing and singing the syllable "wa wa".

Leah Grounds

Leah is a fourth year Communication Studies major. She wishes she could switch to art school, which would enable her to sketch more portraits and make rad ink designs on a regular basis. She comes from the small mountain town of Tehachapi, California, a land of trains, weird weather, hunter-gatherers, windmills, a high-security prison, and alpacas. It was there that she first became a superstar (AKA a restaurant singer...obviously). She quit the restaurant-singing industry last summer to pursue her lifelong dream of working in the accounting department at the local high-security prison, a once in a lifetime opportunity. She hopes that she will only have that experience once in her lifetime. As for the future, she is keeping her options open, but is seriously considering piracy. She loves volleyball, Random Voices, and Funfetti cake with rainbow chip frosting.

Lisie Rosenberg

Lisie is a second-year WAC major and devotes her life to singing and West African dancing, but not at the same time of course. She loves deep conversations, pretzels and ice cream, Wyclef, and getting hyphy about the environment. She is also Mel's twin and professional stylist. She's looking forward to filling the next four years with random shenanigans with these awesome girls.

Lily Stern

Lily is a second year, pre-psychobio major. She is from Berkeley, Ca (proudly representing the yay area). She loves everything that has to do with music from all different styles and cultures. She plays guitar, piano and writes her own music. Lily also loves to dance, play sports, and just kick it. She is so excited to sing and make beautiful music with such talented girls!
